ayashi no ceres is a fantasy action romance, it is made from the maker of fushigi yuugi. aya mikage and her brother aki mikage attend a celebration at their grandfathers home on their birthday. and instead of a birthday day party they find that they are forced upon a family ritual. the ritual on which they put on them brought out the reincarnation of a powerful celestial maiden named ceres out of aya. when aya transforms back to her old self she doesn't remember anything that has happened while she was ceres as if she had a split personality. according to the legend when ceres is brought back she will kill and get revenge on the mikage family. then she is saved by suzumi another celestial maiden and yuhi suzumi;s brother in law. then aya falls in love with one of the mikage's employees toya. Toya was found by them and doesn't remember the past at all. later aya loses aki to his reincarnation of the mikage ancestor who stole ceres' robes and didn't let her return to heaven. aya later makes a deal to ceres that she will find her celestial robes. during her quest she struggles with all kinds of emotional stress like her family and toya. she also gains enemies like her cousin and the C-nome project, a project where they steal celestial maidens and awaken their power.toya also struggles alot to find his lost memory and soon toya and aya find out something amazingly incredible they will never forget.
